Heinrich von Kleist

Production: Topos allou theater

Kohlhaas, the passionate and persistent hero of Kleist's tale will stand against Gods and demons, against the strongest of his age's society. He does not want to succumb to his fate of the weak and poor and believes in the power of justice. In the end he loses everything he has and is crushed.
The grand tale of Heinrich von Kleist “Kohlhaas” will be presented on the stage “Stathis Syros” of Topos Allou Theatre from April 26th 2011 until the end of May, every Monday and Tuesday. The idea and concept belongs to Nikos Alexiou, who has been a stable collaborator for two years in Topos Allou.
The performance will be presented in his own translation and direction and he will also undertake the role of the narrator/performer.
With an austere simplicity of style and theatrical manner he will narrate the amazing parabolic tale of “Kohlhaas”. Alone on stage with only weapons, speech, movement, sounds, he will create dark atmospheres and transfer us to an era of prejudices and merciless conflicts.

Translation, Direction, performed by Nikos Alexiou

The performances will continue
from April 23rd until May 29th
Every Monday Tusday at 9.00 pm
